Miraval Resort
& Spa, Fireplace Insert
Tucson, AZ
|
The
original fireplace was decommissioned due to lack of draw. A
shelf insert was built to provide some function of the fireplace.
|

The
designer wanted a steel surround which would accommodate three
alcohol burning stoves.
|

The
drywallers did a fantastic job of blending in the steel insert
with the surrounding hearth. Unfortunately, only two of the three
burners were working at the time of this picture.

Management
wanted to resurect the old wood-buring fireplace to serve once
again as a fireplace. However, they did not want to go back to
wood. Working with Wayne Johnson, of The Johnson Company, a steel
insert was designed which would accomodate three, alcohol burning
stoves, giving the ambiance and warmth, without the maintenance
and mess.
